Global Weather Data

Real-Time Data - Leveraging a robust data collection facility that ingests vast amounts of weather data from around the world, WSI can produce real-time products that display weather in a format that is most useful to your operations. For example, if a severe wind event is occurring in an exposed region, WSI can produce text files or shape files, in real-time, depicting the sustained wind speed and maximum wind gusts. Other types of data available include North American and European radar information and global satellite imagery.

Forecast Data - WSI provides forecasts for the US Hurricane season, Japanese and Australian typhoon seasons, and European wind seasons. WSI updates these forecasts on a monthly basis to allow members of the industry to buy more protection and/or provide more capacity.

Historical Data - For those that require historical weather data for analyses, WSI provides access to worldwide weather data collected as far back as most observation stations have been in existence.

Leading Research & Development - WSI’s capabilities extend beyond straight data delivery. Our leading-edge research and development team constantly strives to translate weather information into more powerful and useful tools to aid our customers with critical decision making. WSI produces a number of proprietary forecasts including WSI’s Hot Storm Index™ which derives the potential impact of severe weather events including hail, wind, and flooding from raw NEXrad radar data.
